    この作品はNY近代美術館のパーマネント・コレクションの一部となっています。 背景 イギリスのRCA（ロイヤル・カレッジ・オブ・アート）で勉強していて、外国の人に囲まれていた時期だったので、日本人であるという自分のアイデンティティを活かしたものを作りたいと思っていました。日本人は木目を大切にしたり、麦わらでわらじを編んだりと、素材を大事にします。私も素材感を大切にしたいという思いでこの作品を制作しました。 機能 白い方に塩、黒い方にコショウが入っています。これを折って使います。触った感覚は、マカロニに似ています。 捨ててもすぐに水に溶けます。万が一鳥が容器を食べてしまっても大丈夫。 制作 米には吸湿性もあるので、お米をペースト状にして作りました。   Read more.
